چکیده مقاله:
Reproductive biology of three important small indigenous fish species mola (Amblypharyngodon mola), punti (Puntius sophore) and chela (Chela cachius) was studied for 12 months from January to December, 1999 in the Department of Fisheries Management, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. Gonadosomatic index (GSI) and ova diameter were analysed to determine their reproductive cycle. Three hundred sixty female and one hundred forty four male samples of each species of fish, mola (Amblypharyngodon mola), punti (Puntius sophore) and chela (Chela cachius) were examined in this study. The GSI values for female mola, punti and chela ranged from 1.78±0.88 to 17.06±2.66, 1.16±0.64 to 24.81±1.50 and 1.34±0.64 to 10.19±2.17, respectively. The highest values of the GSI in mola and punti were obtained during July while that of chela, during June. The results of monthly observations on the ova diameter indicated that mola, punti and chela spawned at least twice a year, once during May-July and again during September-October.

متن کاملRole of morphometry in determining the feeding success of small freshwater fish species: Multivariate analysis of Amblypharyngodon mola, Puntius ticto, and Esomus danricus
Factor and multiple regression analysis were used to extract the morphometric variables that contributed to feeding success in three small freshwater fishes. Of the first two factors, factor 1, showed high loading of gut weight (GW), length of the upper (UJ), and lower jaws (LJ) in mola, Amblypharyngodon mola (Hamilton), and GW and vertical mouth opening (VMO) in punti, Puntius ticto (Hamilton)...
متن کاملLong-Term GPS Tracking of Ocean Sunfish Mola mola Offers a New Direction in Fish Monitoring
Satellite tracking of large pelagic fish provides insights on free-ranging behaviour, distributions and population structuring. Up to now, such fish have been tracked remotely using two principal methods: direct positioning of transmitters by Argos polar-orbiting satellites, and satellite relay of tag-derived light-level data for post hoc track reconstruction. Error fields associated with posit...
متن کاملIntegrated Monitoring of Mola mola Behaviour in Space and Time
Over the last decade, ocean sunfish movements have been monitored worldwide using various satellite tracking methods. This study reports the near-real time monitoring of fine-scale (< 10 m) behaviour of sunfish. The study was conducted in southern Portugal in May 2014 and involved satellite tags and underwater and surface robotic vehicles to measure both the movements and the contextual environ...
متن کاملThe genome of the largest bony fish, ocean sunfish (Mola mola), provides insights into its fast growth rate
BACKGROUND The ocean sunfish (Mola mola), which can grow up to a length of 2.7 m and weigh 2.3 tons, is the world's largest bony fish. It has an extremely fast growth rate and its endoskeleton is mainly composed of cartilage. Another unique feature of the sunfish is its lack of a caudal fin, which is replaced by a broad and stiff lobe that results in the characteristic truncated appearance of t...
متن کاملPattern Matching in MOLA
This paper addresses the pattern matching problem for model transformation languages. Despite being an NP-complete problem, the pattern matching can be solved efficiently in typical areas of application. A simple pattern matching strategy is proposed for MOLA model transformation language which is efficient for tasks related to the model driven software development. A more advanced solution is ...
